It was one of those rare Saturdays when I had TIME to myself. And not just the odd hour or so. It was a whole morning off and I decided to use it wisely by getting totally pampered. In my eyes, getting pampered is having a massage done and then get someone else to do your nails for you. I don’t have the patience to sit all day and get my hair done as well as a facial and what not. A few things at a time…

Anyway, the manicurist came home so the luxury of being pampered in the TV room watching last night’s Ellen DeGeneres show that I missed was a total treat. I have tried giving myself a French manicure many times and eventually I did get the hang of it. You see, it’s not that I can’t do it or don’t know how to do it or don’t have the right stuff to get it done. I actually have enough to probably start my own salon. Even my manicurist gets seriously impressed when she comes over to do my nails. It’s just that I do enjoy pampering myself and I’m also obsessed with buying new things that fascinate me so if I see that wooden stick thingie to clean the side of my nails at my salon I’m going to go and replicate it in my collection. It’s besides the point I will always use it but the mere thrill of having it is great for me.

I patiently sat through the procedure and watched fascinated at the clean white lines she was doing without the aid of stickers or anything. The end result is a fabulous French manicure which I just can”t stop looking at and have this urgent desire to wear a pretty ring to enhance it even more…
