It happens to all of us and it happened to Andy too. We all have to grow up and all of a sudden Andy is 17 and off to college. Emptying the room was no big deal until he came across the chest that house his favourites Woody and Buzz Lightyear amongst others. To trash, to store in the attic or to give away – that was the question.

Several of them hold out hope that Andy will play with them at least once before he leaves, but those hopes are soon dashed. This idea of ‘running away’ soon fills the heads of the remaining toys: -Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bullseye, Mr Potato Head, Mrs Potato Head, 3 alien squeak toys from Pizza Planet, Slinky Dog, Rex  and Hamm the Piggy Bank. Eventually they all end up at Sunnyside Daycare where it’s adventures galore with Buzz going Spanish and the strawberry smelling kindly gentle teddy bear turning out to be something unexpected. Ken’s wardrobe puts Barbie’s wardrobe to shame and Woody manages to find out that his friends who he left behind at the Daycare are not in good shape at all so he makes his way back to rescue them.

After a whole load of escapades Andy’s Toys manage to find the dump truck that services Andy’s neighborhood, and manage to get back in time before Andy leaves for college. After cleaning themselves up, they sneak back into the house, finding Andy’s room cleaned out, except for some minimal items, and two boxes. One marked ‘College,’ the other ‘Attic.’ They all pile into the ‘Attic’ box and quick-thinking Woody scribbles and address on a sticky note on the box which compels Andy to take his favourite toys to a little girl who has a great imagination and is good to her toys.

Toy Story 3 is a brilliant movie and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It lived up to my high expectations of it after having watched the first and second ones and I know I’d like to own this movie on DVD. Go on and watch it if you haven’t already and let me know if you yell out loud like I did when the monkey suddenly turns around… I won’t spoil it for you! 🙂
