It was an entrance befitting a queen and if you look at it from my point of view Asha Bhosle is truly the Queen of playback singing in Bollywood. I got goosebumps watching her as she made her entrance and sang a few lines of Jeete Hain Shaan Se. As she made her way towards the judges seats her path was strewn with flowers. So filmi, so respectful, SO NICE!

Salim Merchant and Anu Malik were overwhelmed but the one person who looked like she would burst into tears, overwhelmed with emotion, was definitely Sunidhi Chauhan. She seemed to have tears swimming in her eyes throughout the evening.

The most emotional part was when Asha mentioned how she felt the presence of RD Burman right there. In fact the musicians who were on Indian Idols tonight were Rahul Dev Burman’s favourite musicians who were with him right to the end. Not many dry eyes were seen in the studio when Asha acknowledged that.

The participants were on a roll!!! What amazing performances! Personally I feel singing an old school tune actually brings the best out in any singer and today was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed the show today.
