I’m a fan of Amitabh Bhachchan and when the promos and trailers of this movie started airing I promised myself that I would watch this movie on the big screen instead of wait for a bootleg DVD. I’m so glad I watched it on the big screen. I loved this movie and I’m not ashamed to say I also own a bootleg copy! (It’s a good print!)
The story is about Auro (Amitabh Bachchan) who is an intelligent and witty 13-year-old boy with an extremely rare genetic defect that causes accelerated aging. He suffers from a progeria-like syndrome. Mentally he is 13, very normal, but physically he looks five times older. In spite of his condition, Auro is a very happy boy. He lives with his mother Vidya (Vidya Balan) who is a gynecologist. Amol Arte (Abhishek Bachchan) is young, progressive and a full-of-ideals politician. He is out to prove to the world that ‘politics’ is not a bad word. He is a man with a mission. Auro is Amol’s son.
The story is very moving and touching, it’s funny at some points and one cannot help but think that just when you think the superstar can not better his acting, he goes and outdoes himself. His role as Auro in Paa is no exception.
Watch this movie and enjoy it thoroughly. And get a copy if you can. It’s something you will want to watch again.
