Marilyn Quotes…

She was beautiful and has the most amazing quotes. Here are some fabulous ones I wanted to share with you.
Hope you like them as much as I do…!
~ Kamal

“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

“The real lover is the man who can thrill you by kissing your forehead or smiling into your eyes or just staring into space.”

“This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some  go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And babe… I  hate to say it, most of them – actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because  if  you give up, you’ll never find your soul mate. You’ll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.”

“When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I’m already better than them.”

“I’ve never fooled anyone. I’ve let people fool themselves. They didn’t bother to find out who and what I was. Instead they would invent a character for me. I wouldn’t argue with them. They were obviously loving somebody I wasn’t.”

“It’s often just enough to be with someone. I don’t need to touch them. Not even talk. A feeling passes between you both. You’re not alone.”

“Success makes so many people hate you. I wish it wasn’t that way. It would be wonderful to enjoy success without seeing envy in the eyes of those around you.”

“This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, somg go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them.”

“People had a habit of looking at me as if I were some kind of mirror instead of a person. They didn’t see me, they saw their own lewd thoughts, then they white-masked themselves by calling me the lewd one.”

Some quotes on friendship…

Life throws some wonderful people into your life and you end up calling them your friends. Some friendships you sustain, others don’t last for long. Each brings some happiness, some sadness, so many learning lessons. Even when they end some friendships leave you with a lesson.
I found some quotes that touched me and I thought I’d share them.
Thank you for being part of my life… past, present, future.

~Kamal

~ You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes you meet those people you can’t forget. Those are your friends.

~ A simple friend thinks the friendship over when you have an argument. A real friend knows that it’s not a friendship until after you’ve had a fight.

~ A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

~ Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.

~ We all lose friends.. we lose them in death, to distance and over time. But even though they may be lost, hope is not. The key is to keep them in your heart, and when the time is right, you can pick up the friendship right where you left off. Even the lost find their way home when you leave the light on

~ Moving on is simple, what you leave behind that makes it difficult.

~ The worst solitude is to be destitute of sincere friendship.

~ It is strange how often a heart must be broken before the years can make it wise.

~ The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend. I have no wealth to bestow on him. If he knows that I am happy in loving him, he will want no other reward. Is not friendship divine in this?

When Love Hurts

The most beautiful feeling in the world can also become the most painful. I came across some quotes and thought I’d share them.
~Kamal

Oscar Wilde
Those who are faithful know only the trivial side of love; it is the faithless who know love’s tragedies.

Anonymous
Why is it that we don’t always recognize the moment love begins, but we always recognize the moment it ends?

George Granville
Of all pains, the greatest pain,
Is to love, and to love in vain.

Oscar Wilde
When one is in love, one always begins by deceiving oneself, and one always ends by deceiving others. That is what the world calls a romance.

Jane Austen
One does not love a place the less for having suffered in it unless it has all been suffering, nothing but suffering.

Great Start To The Week…

Monday morning blues need to take on a new hue, methinks! Just saw this wonderful quote and loved it so much that I just had to share it.

Do not do unto others as you would that they should do unto you.Their tastes may not be the same.

– George Bernard Shaw

Basically, live and let live and allow yourself to have a wonderful week up ahead. I know it’s easy to spew quotes and hard to live by someone else’s experiences but then again it’s a conscious effort, a choice you have to make.

Have a great week….!

Quotable Quotes by Albert Einstein

I do like reading quotes. It’s besides the point that I will apply the good advice that is freely being dispensed in these quotes though! I quite enjoy quotes by Albert Einstein and I’m sharing a few with you. Enjoy!

A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.

I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

Miss Piggy Quotes

I used to love watching the Muppet Show as a kid and I absolutely adored Miss Piggy. I found some lovely quotes by her – made me laugh – and I thought I’d share them. She really did know what she was on about…!

It’s a good idea to apply an all-over facial pack once or twice a month, but I never, never use mud. (Frankly, it brings up unpleasant memories.) I recommend my own special facial mousse, a mixture of mocha cooking chocolate, icing sugar, eggs and cream (adjust the proportions to your own taste). The mousse should be beaten with a wooden spatula as if you were frosting a cake. If there’s a little bit left over, it is quite all right to taste a teensy bit.

Often the only view we have of ourselves is from a mirror or photograph. Due to defection, refaction, conflection and infliction, mirrors always make you look larger in the wrong places. (An important scientist at a big university in a famous place discovered this.) And cameras do lie, because of all kinds of strange optical things and complicated gizmos that break and give you the wrong shortstop or spoil the focus-pocus, and little hairs that get stuck inside and goo on the film.

Miss Piggy’s Petite Coiffure Style-and-Smile Hair Conditioning Recipe:

2 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon flour
1 cup milk
1 oz. powered sugar
1/8 cup sugar
3 egg yokes
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 egg whites

1. Heat the milk, sugar and chocolate together. Beat in the yokes, then whip the vanilla and egg whites. Combine all ingredients. Place in the oven on a low heat.

2. Go out straight away and have your hair done.

3. Come home. Remove the mixture from the oven. Cover lightly with whipped cream and eat.

Your hair is your most important accessory. In a pinch, you could do without your shoes, your purse, your eyeshadow – but without your hair, in that important first impression you’d score a Bad Beauty Impact.

Interesting Quotes….

Being anonymous is such a luxury especially when you want to say something without being caught. I found some rather interesting quotes and thought I’d share them…. Food for thought.

“Never answer an anonymous letter” – Yogi Berra

“You just assume that you have some anan, ana, ananonimity, anonymity? Yeah, anonimity.” – Elijah Wood

“It will be even easier to create anonymous content and not be able to trace it.” – Carol Darr

“One of the nice things about the Internet is people aren’t terribly anonymous; they only think they are. Lots of footprints get left all over the place by people who are a little unwary.” – David Kennedy

Quotable Quotes at Mindspeak

Gina Din at Mindspeak

PR Guru Gina Din was at Mindspeak on Saturday. You can find out more about Mindspeak by going to http://www.rich.co.ke which is the brainchild of Aly-Khan Satchu. I really look up to Gina and feel she is the Kenyan woman we all should aim to be. From being a Mum to a PR Guru and everything in between, she knows it all, except for her self-confessed maneno about balancing the cheque books. The whole auditorium giggled at that. From the time she said ‘Good morning’ right up to when she said ‘Thank you for having me’ she had the attention of all present. The whole morning was liberally peppered with quotable quotes and the one below was my favourite, amongst the MANY things she said. Here she simply, with a plethora of pictures for the mind, explains the difference between PR, Marketing and Advertising.

So let’s look at the simplest way of defining the differences between PR, Marketing and Advertising.

Lets say there’s a circus coming to town. If you put up a sign that’s advertising. If you put the sign on the back of an elephant, and march the elephant through Nairobi, that’s a promotion. If the elelphant, still with the sign on his back, tramples through State House, and its recorded on Tv and the event is broadcast, thats publicity. If you can get the President to laugh about it and perhaps even attend the circus that’s PR and if you planned the elephant’s walk, that’s marketing.

I think I want an elephant now… 🙂
