Oatmeal Cookies

I bought a huge bag of oats thinking I’d make great face packs, fabulously filling breakfast oats served with honey and fruits and a whole load of other things. Nothing of that sort happened and finally I just decided to make cookies out of the oats. At least they’d get consumed that way! I’m still devising a recipe for the face mask. Watch this space…

Delicious Oatmeal Cookies

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • Chocolate chips (optional)

METHOD:

Preheat oven to 180*Centigrade. Cream together the butter and sugars.ย  Blend in the egg and vanilla.ย  Then stir in the dry ingredients until well blended.ย  Roll into balls and place on greased cookie sheets.ย  Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

I can’t really tell you how long they keep. They don’t last more than 2 days in my home….
