Pancakes are yummy with sweet or savoury toppings. I got introduced to pancakes when I was about 6 years old and was in UK for a holiday and my aunt made pancakes for Shrove Tuesday with lemon juice and a sprinkling of sugar. I was hooked!
Pancakes are easy to make and you can have anything on top like marmalade, jam, apple pie mix, fruits, fresh cream, in fact anything! And if you feel like having a savoury topping you can go crazy with bolognese sauce, grated cheese, you get the drift! Just experiment away.
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 cup self raising flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
METHOD:
Preheat a large non-stick frying pan and spray with cooking spray or a little butter. Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Make sure there are no lumps. Pour large spoonfuls of the batter onto the pan and cook on medium heat.
Turn over when the edges start curling and go dry. Turn and cook the other side until golden brown.
Serve with your favourite toppings or a drizzling of maple syrup. Yummy…
