Rice Crispie Squares

Their signature noise is Snap Crackle and Pop but once you make these easy-to-make rice crispie squares you’ll hear more of Mmmm Aaaahh and Yummyyyy! These squares are really very easy to make and are ready in no time at all. No need for complicated ingredients either.

Rice Crispie Squares with couloured sprinkles

You will need:

50g butter

4 cups miniature marshmallows/ big marshmallows chopped up

6 cups rice crispies (I sometimes use 3 cups rice crispies and 3 cups coco pops for a bit of chocolatey taste)

Coloured sprinkles (Hundreds & Thousands)

Method:

In a large non stick pan melt the butter on low heat and then add the marshmallows. Keep stirring and don’t get worried when you watch the marshmallows melt! They tend to look like curdled milk at this point. Keep stirring and then add the rice crispies and ensure the rice crispies are well coated with the marshmallow mixture.

Turn out this warm mixture into a lined tin and spread evenly. Pour the coloured sprinkles on top and flatten with a spatula or use a potato masher like I do. Cover with cling film or foil and put it in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours.

Turn out and cut into squares and serve! These rice crispie squares will keep in the firdge in an airtight container for a week but I bet you if you have kids at home they won’t last that long.

Enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚
