Rest in Peace, Rishi Kapoor

People wonder why us mere mortals mourn the passing away of stars, actors, singers, etc.

Youโ€™re going through some stage of life, and this larger than life personality invokes some kind of feeling in you.

You love how you feel and therefore end up loving the person who made you feel that way.

Iโ€™m devastated with Rishi Kapoorโ€™s death.
Absolutely devastated.
I have loved him for the longest time.

My first crush. My first love.

The man who invoked romance in me, who allowed me to think that someone will lip-synch Dard E Dil for me, too.

I remember bumping into his entire family at Sarit Centre in the early 90s. They were walking around nonchalantly but everyone was abuzz because they knew. I went up to him to say hello and he was wearing one of his signature bright cardigans.
I thought Iโ€™d pass out.

I feel I have lost a part of me today. ๐Ÿ’”

I am thinking of his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren, the entire extended family, who have lost a huge part of their lives today.
I am irrevocably sad.
