My kids are old enough to cook and they do take turns to cook dinner, but sometimes they prefer me to do the cooking and I love that. I seriously love cooking for my kids.
I made this very simple tandoori chicken baked in the oven. Ingredients are readily available.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 kg skinless, boneless chicken or boneless thighs
1/2 cup yoghurt
1 teaspoon tandoori paste (readily available at supermarkets)
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 ground green chilli (optional)
Method:
Cut the chicken into thick pieces and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, put all the other ingredients together and mix well.
Add the chicken and mix again, ensuring the chicken pieces are evenly coated.
Allow to marinade at least 2-3 hours.
Switch on oven to 200°C.
Place chicken on a baking tray that has a mesh on it to raise it from lying flat on the tray.
Bake for 30 minutes.
(Drumsticks or pieces with bone may take up to forty minutes)
Remove from oven when cooked. Place in a serving platter. Garnish with a sprinkling of chopped coriander and serve immediately.
Accompaniment / condiment suggestions:
Hot buttered naan
Jacket potato
Ugali
Tamarind chutney
Garlic yoghurt chutney
Mint and coriander chutney
ENJOY!
Hey Kamz. Looks delicious. Can I use the ground tandoori masala powder in place of the paste?

Hi! Yes you can. Use a heaped teaspoon, but keep checking the taste. You may have to reduce the salt.
