The idea of recipes on my blog is to make life easy with simple cooking. It had started off as recipes for my kids for when they went to university but it turns out, they were able to cook well way before then.
Here’s something that they really enjoy, and it simple to make.
Ingredients:
1/2 kg pork steaks cut into thin strips
1 onion, chopped
1 heaped teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon vinegar
Generous dashes of Teriyaki sauce
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
Chopped vegetables of your choice
(I used a handful of each – mushrooms, julienned carrots, broccoli, baby spinach)
2 packets noodles
2 finely chopped green chillies
1 tablespoon cornflour turned into paste
Method:
In a large pot, sautée the onions lightly. Add the garlic and vinegar.
Add pork strips, teriyaki and soy sauce. Mix well. Allow to cook for 6-7 minutes. Stir often.
Add the vegetables and noodles. Cook for another 5 minutes. Top up with boiling water to make it as soupy as you want. If you add quite a bit of water, you may need to add extra salt.

Pour cornflour paste to thicken the soup consistency slightly. Cook for a further two minutes.
Voila! One bowl pork strips with noodles is ready to be eaten.
