This is something I like to make at the kids birthday parties or when they need to take food from home to school during the school parties. It is also great as a lunch box filler and if you eat lunch at your desk at work you can take this to enjoy while reading Kamal’s Korner during your lunch break… ๐
It’s quick and easy to prepare and if you want, you can involve your kids to help you out. My lot love spreading the paste on the bread!
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 loaf round barrel bread/ French bread/ ordinary sliced bread
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- Grated cheddar cheese
- Slices of roast turkey/chicken/ham/roast beef etc (optional)
- Sliced mushrooms (optional)
- Sweetcorn (optional)
- Sliced olives (optional)
- Dried oregano
METHOD:
Place the bread slices on baking tray. Generously spread pizza sauce all over. Some people are good at making home-made pizza sauce so if you do have the time to indulge go ahead. If you’re pressed for time then go ahead with the jar-popping.
Add slices of cold meat or any of the other optional ingredients if you feel like it, spread grated cheese and then sprinkle the oregano on top. Bake in a medium hot oven (180/190 deg C) for about 10 minutes.
Can be served immediately or even eaten cold.
